Wow what a great list! Thanks so much for the link. I have used Cascade Fixation for baby booties and hats, but never really wanted my own pair of socks knit with it, I'll check out the Panda Cotton for my next project.

I particularly love the chevron granny blanket which is exactly the kind of thing I am looking for my living room. Project time!

Hey crafters, I am at a bit of a loss for what to do with two beautiful skeins (a rich warm brown and a dark sapphire blue) of hemp yarn! I love hemp's durability but since it doesn't really stretch I am scrapping my hat plans.
I can't really think of anything beyond market bags and yoga bags. Any ideas?

I made a bag and some amigurumi for my friends' kids! I'm pretty excited that i made the owl match the bag. let me know if these pics don't work. I didn't want my friend to see them on flickr so I privated them, but I'm not sure if that means I can't link to them on here. Sup! At my school we are knitting with the ~13yr old girls with the final goal being sweaters for rescued penguins (so both a public service activity and skill building). Given I really didn't have much knitting experience, over the last couple of weeks I've taught myself (with the aid of the internets) how to knit. On the left is my first attempt, a manly camouflage ensemble, and on the right is the current, more penguiny, black and white version.

penguin sweaters XD Awesome job! I was working on this scarf for a million years, I hurt my hand bad last fall which slowed me down, and then I had to frog most of it after a coffee spill. BUT I AM NOW FINISHED. That's Maleficent cuddling up to the book I used to flatten out a twist that was in it XD I'm going to make a short lacy scarf next, but the pattern I got calls for light fingering yarn, and I was making it as an NDP scarf for a friend and I can't find the shade of orange I need :(

Thank you kindly!
Its also one of the warmest scarves I ever worn, I made it for my mom (its why its short, its long for her), but she's immune to the cold so this will probably be for when she's outside in the cold for a long time. Don't let anyone say that vegan yarns can't compete with wool, this would have been waaaay too hot if made from wool.
