Kitties! You should make a teal pair for Isa's teal cat project.

Crocheting in the back loop only for multiple rows OR alternating front-post and back-post stitches create ribbing. It's not exactly the same as knit ribbing, but it's definitely ribbing. EDIT: the cuff of these mitts is alternating FPDC and BPDC and, the bottom of this hat is back loop only ribbing

That is awesome! I'm going to give that a try now. I actually had never heard of FPDC and BPDC stitches, so this all kinds of exciting.

Okay I don't mean to be annoying but I'm going to ask one more time because I KNOW some of you are pros at knitting baby stuff. :)
I haven't knit much baby stuff. What's a good fiber choice? I don't know anything about babies but someone once told me they have delicate skin and you don't want anything too scratchy. But you also want it to be washable since babies are messy.

I like this for baby stuff!: http://www.knitpicks.com/yarns/Comfy_Wo ... 20171.html It's not soft like fluffy but it's smooth and cool next to the skin like cotton but is still flexible and washable since it's a blend. And it comes in a bajillion colors. :) I've also had success with TLC Baby and Lion Brand Baby.

What are these (I know they're knitting needles!) and what do I make with them?

I'm making this blanket now for a friend who is in the hospital. I'm already about 1/3 done with only a few hours of crocheting. I'm making it darker fall colors though. I seriously love how easy granny squares are! http://www.loopknits.com/2010/02/13/quadrant-blanket/

What are these (I know they're knitting needles!) and what do I make with them? They are used to knit circlular things (e.g. toques and socks) in place of the four needle way.

Cute cute cute!
I'm knitting an afghan for my boyfriend for Christmas (he's a small guy and gets cold easily!), I'm picking up the yarn and everything today and I can't wait to get started ^_^
I work at a Michael's and its employee appreciation week or something, so I get like 50% off my purchases :3

Circular needles that size are often used to accommodate projects that are too big to fit on straight needles, like sweaters and shawls. You knit back and forth on them just like regular straight needles.

Does anybody know a pattern for something like this: I love this, I want to make it, but according to the blogpost it came from the woman thrifted it. Also, some non-toque ideas for male gifts? My brother and father love it when I make them something, but I'm out of ideas. I've already made them afghans and toques.

Mitts, gloves, vests, socks? Phone cover? I made these for myself even though it's a manpattern: http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring07/PATTdashing.html

My first granny square blanket! I stupidly switched crochet hooks (same size, just a different hook) in the middle of crocheting so two of my squares ended up being smaller than the others, so it's a little wonky, but I'm still pretty proud of it. It's for my friend who's in the hospital. my first blanket by ijustdiedinhere, on Flickr

Cute! And much nicer that those scratchy hospital blankets. Or at least that was the case in the hospital I was in.
