Don't power the floor where old vinyl or linoleum flooring was glued down.
What you say? Everyone knows that in homes build in the 70's (like mine) that chances are between the actual flooring, its backing, and the adhesive there is probably some toxic shiitake (asbestos) in there. Then please explain to me why in the fork I just walked in on my husband happily sanding away at some old stuck on vinyl we found when redoing our floor. Without a mask or any sort of ventilation. And when I freaked out about it, I was told I was overreacting, as he grabbed a vacuum cleaner, not a wet towel to get the dust.
Now the hypochondriac asthmatic in me is going to be freaking out until I get some kind of overpriced test to make sure we're not all going to die. Or at least me and the kid, since she's innocent and I have enough sense not to make unknown materials into teeny airborne particles.
Please tell me I'm not going to die a horrid, suffocating death. Or at least convince me I shouldn't be really pissed off right now.
