I posted a few months ago in the local NY thread about learning Swedish or German, and I was wondering if anyone had experience and was in close proximity who would be willing to teach me. Now, I'm planning a trip to Iceland in the coming months. I don't know if it's really necessary considering most natives are already ahead and are multilingual including at least a familiarity with basic English. Nevertheless, I know no Icelandic and I would want to go with some familiarity of basic things, and some major cultural aspects. Not as a courtesy but I guess as a way of showing I'm not just there to be a tourist.
I have little to offer, and can't really pay. I would be willing to pay for coffee and lunch during lessons, and whatever else you might think of. If your job has alot of monotonous components you'd want to dole out to me, I could help as well.
Even if you're not American or living in America but are fluent, I would love love love any help.
