I've found all these adorable embroidery patterns and kits on etsy but I'm sort of at a loss for what to do with the final project.

My ideas so far include:
-framed as wall art
-throw pillows
-tea towels
-skirts

I don't really see me wearing lots of embroidered clothes and I don't use purses or totes very much. So...other ideas? My husband isn't into cutesy decorations all over the house either. If I lived alone I'd probably just have little owls and foxes hung all over my walls. Hee.

you can use the pattern on note cards and instead of stitching - color them in!

I make hoops and give them as gifts. I love to embroider.
But I need to start adding it to sew projects. That is a great idea.

Oooh I love the card idea! I'm so selfish though, I want to keep all the projects for myself!

I just bought an embroidery kit for tea towels and I'm starting on a needle point Christmas ornament. Trouble is, I'm having a hard time seeing what I'm doing. My eyes aren't that bad, so I don't know why I'm having problems reading the cross stitch pattern and threading my needle. Last night it triggered a migraine! :( Are there like giant magnifying glasses that can be propped up on your lap for doing stuff like this?

I like this thread. I love embroidery, but most of the time stitching stuff on my clothes isn't really my thing. I like the idea of making wall art and notecards.

My grandma used to have something like this, so it had a lamp and a magnifying glass.

I used to embroider ... back in the day I once embroidered a number of lines from punk songs on a big white t-shirt that I wore to parties ... Sex Pistols, Iggy etc.

My aunt, who makes beautiful purses, and I collaborated on a project. I embroidered a design on a piece of fabric, picked coordinating fabrics, and she will use those to make a purse for me! The rest of my stuff so far is just sitting in a pile on a counter. I'm not great at finishing things.

I just got this and am pretty excited about giving a couple of the smaller projects a go, in between finishing my epic BIG cross stitch project.... (just so I can experience a small sense of completion every now and then....)

I am currently cross stitching my house number into my chain-link fence. It's a little challenging, first and foremost because the chain link is diagonal as opposed to vertical/horizontal. When I'm done I will post pics and put up a tutorial with tips and probably patterns for numbers on the diagonal on my blog.

Almost all of my dishtowels are embroidered. Mostly by my sister, but some by me. She made a bunch of people "day of the week" sets... I use them, everyone else who got them thinks that's weird and they display them.

I like embroidery, but didn't find much other use for it. I might do some patterns on the bottom of a work skirt I got. Black on black will be harder to do, but I think it will look neat.

I just love to hoop 'em up and give 'em away (for the most part, though there are more and more hanging in my house now)

Life's been a bit of a bummer the last month or so, but I've been done some fun little projects (which has been helping keep me on an even keel)
