I've found all these adorable embroidery patterns and kits on etsy but I'm sort of at a loss for what to do with the final project.

My ideas so far include:
-framed as wall art
-throw pillows
-tea towels
-skirts

I don't really see me wearing lots of embroidered clothes and I don't use purses or totes very much. So...other ideas? My husband isn't into cutesy decorations all over the house either. If I lived alone I'd probably just have little owls and foxes hung all over my walls. Hee.

you can use the pattern on note cards and instead of stitching - color them in!

I make hoops and give them as gifts. I love to embroider.
But I need to start adding it to sew projects. That is a great idea.

Oooh I love the card idea! I'm so selfish though, I want to keep all the projects for myself!

I just bought an embroidery kit for tea towels and I'm starting on a needle point Christmas ornament. Trouble is, I'm having a hard time seeing what I'm doing. My eyes aren't that bad, so I don't know why I'm having problems reading the cross stitch pattern and threading my needle. Last night it triggered a migraine! :( Are there like giant magnifying glasses that can be propped up on your lap for doing stuff like this?

I like this thread. I love embroidery, but most of the time stitching stuff on my clothes isn't really my thing. I like the idea of making wall art and notecards.

My grandma used to have something like this, so it had a lamp and a magnifying glass.

I used to embroider ... back in the day I once embroidered a number of lines from punk songs on a big white t-shirt that I wore to parties ... Sex Pistols, Iggy etc.

My aunt, who makes beautiful purses, and I collaborated on a project. I embroidered a design on a piece of fabric, picked coordinating fabrics, and she will use those to make a purse for me! The rest of my stuff so far is just sitting in a pile on a counter. I'm not great at finishing things.

I just got this and am pretty excited about giving a couple of the smaller projects a go, in between finishing my epic BIG cross stitch project.... (just so I can experience a small sense of completion every now and then....)

You could make wind chimes from scrap wood or metal, just paint them or varnish them and it'll be good as new! :)
