Yo, the neighborhood cats, including my own beloved Turbo, are STILL crapping in my garden beds. All malodorous suggestions fail to work. Got anything else, short of fencing in my raised beds?

Cats also hate orange peels-it's how we keep one of ours out of the Christmas tree. And tinfoil, though I doubt that would be plausible in a garden.

I line the bed they frequent with little pine cones. It works, and looks good.
It is not feasible for everyone.

i don't have an issue with cats crapping in the garden (we keep ours inside only) although there are some strays in the neighborhood... i do have an issue with my dog digging up my plants, and the only way to keep her out is to fence the raised beds. you don't even need hardcore fencing, just some metal posts and plastic green fencing stuff from home depot (comes on a big roll and is 4' high) and it'll deter the critters from getting in. you can still get in to weed/water/etc by unfolding a flap. i took a photo this summer of my setup. you can kinda see it in this photo:  may 1st garden by jessibot_, on Flickr and i have a bunch of photos of it on my blog : http://austinvegangardener.blogspot.com/worth a try, and cheap too! good luck...

I can't even have a tiny houseplant, one of the cats will surely pee and poop in it. I had a tiny tiny plant in a tiny tiny plant and they still managed to go in it for the business.

The little forkers shiitake all over my front lawn, Poppy hoovers it up if I don't find it before she does, ack! She slurped up some kitty squits from the back garden last week and ended up with the squits and vomiting herself, cleaning all that out of grass was a LOT of fun*.
* if a LOT of fun is wanting to cut your own face off.
