Well it wasn't boring in the sense that it wasn't getting attention, it was boring in the sense that we've had a TON of "name what you don't like that's popular" threads and they're typically very long and follow very much the same formula.
Person A: I don't like daiya Person B: THANKYOU, daiya is more disgusting than cat vomit blended with rat testicles Person C: ....well, I like daiya
See, always the same. Word for word.

I've been looking for a good vegan version of cat vomit blended with rat testicles. Thanks for the tip!

I posted in the thread, and it hadn't occurred to me that it would a problem, but now that Mo has explained why she closed it I definitely see why and I respect her decision. Mods don't do things just to be dicks (well, except MBM).

You make one smurf filter, and people never let you live it down.

The smurf filter is still my favorite thing, MBM. It's the best.

So it seems a little disingenuous to say it was closed because it was "boring." Obviously it wasn't boring to everyone. But whatever. It's just a thread. I'm over it. I could start a thread in which we discuss the difference between "overrated" and "not to my taste." There is also a difference between "not to my taste" and whether or not something is important or relevant to cultural history. You wouldn't, for example, go into the nail polish thread and tell everyone that polishing your nails is stupid. First of all, they are all-powerful and would vaporize you on the spot. Second of all, it would just be mean. I see threads like the overrated one as being very similar to that. Now, if someone started a thread about whether or not they should read, watch, listen to, or play X that might be different. Those threads tend to dissolve into variations of kids standing the in the comic book store yelling about whether or not Batman is better than Spider Man. Plus, some of that stuff that was not to people's taste is dear to other people's hearts.

I'm glad that the power of the nail polish thread is being officially recognized, mostly because I'm trying to get my nails healthy and going through polish withdrawal at the moment. Anyway, I'm glad this thread was started, I've been using the toilet wrong forever and never would have known without the handy guides. Thanks, PPK!

Seagull shiitake pie is better than pigeon shiitake pie. It's more exotique.

Speaking of random explosive poo on public toilet seats? I did that once. It was absolutely an accident. I was just getting over a stomach bug and was walking to Walmart to buy mouse traps and I had to go #2 SO bad and so I ran into the Arby's I was passing and just barely made it to the toilet and I kind of missed.
I cleaned it up but it made the toilet seat turn orange. And all in all it was super embarrassing and gross. And I'm sure I should probably have told an employee about it, but who wants to go to the counter where you have bought 5000 chicken sandwiches not long previous and tell them, "Hey, I just pooped all over your toilet seat on my way to buy mouse traps."
(This is something that happened long before I quit eating dead animals, by the way. Just to clarify I'm not, you know, still going to Arby's to consume chicken sandwiches.)
Why am I even telling this story, anyway?
