Suggestion!
I was thinking that maybe there should be a forum for new vegans. Where they could ask questions and get answers from experienced folks. It would be better than a single thread because topics would be divided up by thread. So somebody might say "blah I miss cheese blah" and the follow-up comments would be suggestions etc. Or somebody might post "soy makes my guts hurt what cn i do 2 gets proteens?" and the follow-up posts would you-get-the-point.
There are new vegans all the time, and I think those of us who have been vegan a long time sometimes take what we know for granted. But we're also happy to help! Right, gang? Right! And sometimes folks don't live in a bustling Metropolis with a vibrant vegan community built in. But that's what we're here for, right, gang? RIGHT!
Anyway, that's my suggestion. I love you all very much.

Why would they need their own forum, then? It seems like they'd get fewer answers to their questions that way.

I assumed he meant that a sticky for common vegan issues would be created, so you could go to "Tips for Surviving Family Holidays," "Cheese Substitutes?" "Veganizing Tips" "Protein Sources" "Coming out as a vegan." etc.
It would be helpful if people with more experience weighed in on those threads and there was a single source for all the information, so it wasn't constantly being duplicated.
That said, I think when people find this site, they don't read the instructions and start off posting everything in the Foyer (even stuff that belongs in "Whine Tasting" etc) because that area gets the most circulation and they don't know how to use the search function. So chances are it would be hard to get new members to go to the N00b forum and post there.
I do like the idea of a few stickies for new vegans though...

I like the idea as well, and maybe when you sign up you are automatically directed to the n00b room and from there you can access the other forums? I know lots of people joining are not new to veganism, but if everyone was first directed there it might cut down on repeat threads.
