If you click report it is the quickest way to let the admin know there is spam. Sometimes it may be a few hours before they are deleted but if you use the report button it notifies all the team so once someone comes online it will be taken care of.

Since most of the mods are in some U.S. time zone or another, spam that gets posted in the wee hours of a Sunday morning might take a few hours before one of us is able to get to it. Also, please keep in mind that we're all volunteers with jobs and friends and families and hobbies and lives that take priority over deleting Russian spambots. Report it if you see it, and we'll get to them when we can.

Mods are only human, whereas spammers are evil cyberbots. Or something to that effect. If there's spam it's not because it simply hasn't occurred to the mods yet to remove it- it's because they are unpaid volunteers who may have other things (like dayjobs) preventing them from leaping into action the second a spammer hits the 'submit' button.

Yeah, we're trying our best. Sometimes I check in on my phone, but my phone sucks so it's hard to delete spam until I get to the computer.

I know of course - I've been a moderator at some Tolkien sites myself way back :)
