I was experiencing this today. If I clicked 'board index' or well almost anything, I'd get logged out. It is strange. This didn't happen to me before. So I logged in and selected 'log me in automatically'. what if I don't want to be logged in automatically though?

Sounds like you'll have to log in manually if you elect not to log in automatically. Huh.

But the issue is I log in manually and then get logged out if I try to go anywhere on the board. Now maybe its by design that I get logged out so I can't post if I try to click into a post but I would imagine that without closing my browser that I shouldn't be logged out within seconds of being logged in.

It's me. I'm logging you off.
Seriously though, nothing has changed on this end. It is either your browser, your computer, or your service provider. I'd start with checking your browser's cookie settings.

I'm well aware. I added a reply just so that it's known that more than one person is experiencing this issue. I've had no problems with my isp, computer or using Chrome visiting websites that deal with session and authentication so I have a hunch that it is the website.

Yeah this happens a lot but doesn't happen to me ever on any other boards. I initially only noticed it on one computer but now even if I click 'log me in automatically', I still get logged out after a while. It is just strange.

If you keep track of some times (as indicated up at the top of the site right under the login/logout button at the top right of the site) that this happens someone might be able to look into it a little more.

This is happening to me now, too. I just received a notification of a reply to a thread, clicked on it, logged in, checked the log me in automatically box, replied, closed the thread. Received another notification almost immediately, clicked on it and had to log in again to get to the thread. Just for shiitakes and giggles, I repeated the process another time or two, both on my computer and my phone and had to re-log in every time.
ETA: In case it helps, according to the top of the site, "It is currently Fri Jan 28, 2011 12:30 pm".
