firstly, how come I cannot buy them here in Germany? And secondly, why would a 20 Pack only cost 5 Pound but shipping and handling from the UK is 25??

I'd love to take pies to work more often but I dont want to carry my heavy pyrex form all the time, plus I'm afraid it will break. Any advise?

could you put a few layers of foil into the pyrex plate, hanging out over the edges, and then when it is done you could maybe have a friend with no reason to sabotage your pie help you CAREFULLY lift it out and into a cardboard box/tupperware container of some sort? i've never tried this before, so it might be a very bad idea.

or maybe look around for an inexpensive metal pie tin.

slightly related, wouldn't a pie crust made out of waffle ice cream cone be pretty awesome?

Not foil, but paper:

Oh, Ikea also has some cheap light pans that you could use for pies. For example: http://www.ikea.com/de/de/catalog/products/60133035/

those paper thingies look awesome! I wonder whether they will get soggy, though. In the meantime, I found some on ebay - close enough:
