I have magnetic spice tins. In my old house, I painted a wall outside of the kitchen with magnetic paint. In my new place, I just have them stuck to the side of the fridge. That saves me loads of space.

I have small rubbermaid bins in which I store like items like extracts or dried fruits, then I stack themin the cabinets to make use of wasted vertical space. It helps a lot.

I would LOVE to get those magnetic spice tins, but alas, I am renting, and I can't really paint the walls. Err, I could, but I'd have to repaint before moving out, and I'll be busy enough just packing and cleaning at that point. My spices are all kept in their bags, and they were neatly stacked in a basket, but they've gotten a bit unruly lately. I need to figure out which ones I actually use vs. the ones I just have. I have some mysteriously unidentifiable ones - they are getting a bit old, so they've lost some smell. I should throw those out..

I got rid of my rice cooker but have yet to learn how to make rice. So I'm opting to maybe buy a small second hand one.

I had to ditch my slow cooker as well, but again hoping to get a 3qt one to sub in.

If you really want to save space, buy a pressure cooker instead!! You can make brown rice in 15 minutes, beans in about 8 minutes, and last night I used it to make green curry. The pot that does it all!
