I am SO BUMMED you can't do it this round! I'm gonna do another in 2 weeks, will you be able to do it?

I can't wait for a new round. I planned a dish, but I work weekends and was too tired this evening to get moving on something inventive. Even though I totally wrote out a recipe! Damn. It would be swell if we had a bit longer so us weekend workers have a bit more time to plan. (though I guess that defeats the purpose of Chopped?)

When I saw "For Real! Sort of!" I assumed this would be like the chopped thread of the past! How wrong I was! But I'm traveling! Bummer.

Can this be a monthly thing? Perhaps we can set up a whole dedicated chunk of the internet to it and get vegan companies to sponsor each one? And then every few months have an in person event and donate any funds we raise in the process to the nearest sanctuary? And then take over the world?

I've got my ingredients now I just need to make it. So far, my baby is not letting me do much of anything. Hopefully my hubby can keep him entertained long enough for me to make the dish! I'm kind of excited about what I am making. I have no idea if it will be good yet, I will have to see when I start combining ingredients!!!

I kind of have an idea! I doubt it would win, but I think it'll be tasty and bloggable, anyway.

I'm so excited my dish is so tasty! It's not entirely what I was expecting, but really good! I can't wait to share it. Hopefully the pictures came out okay.

I bought ingredients and wrote out a recipe, but my taste buds and appetite are still weird, and now I can't even look at them. I should have just cooked Friday when I went shopping. :( I'm hoping I can eat like a normal person again soon.

I can't wait to see what other people made, though! This is a really awesome idea!

yeah, you can just use flickr and then write down your recipe as the description of the image.

If you want, you can even post it here! It doesn't matter where you post it, as long as it's visible. But I guess you'll still need Flickr or something to host the image.

I would love to do something like that but in my experience things can get very overwhelming very fast! I'm going to keep it simple for awhile and see what transpires.

This was SO fun! whew! done! I haven't blogged since August of 2011 (whoa. I had to look it up, didn't realize it'd been THAT long!), and this definitely inspired me in all kindsa ways. Really looking forward to seeing what everyone else enters!

I suuuuuper loved this contest. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a food rut and I feel like I can't be creative. This contest is a total cooking confidence booster!

There are so many entries on the FB page! This is awesome. I am not good at these sorts of challenges but it's great to see the excitement of the people doing this.

I feel all warm and fuzzy now! I will try to learn how to put pictures on the internet over the next week, and hopefully be able to participate next time.

And now the waiting... and looking at what everyone else made! Hey, this gave me something fun to do during my last week of maternity leave. Although I kept having to stop what I was doing to go nurse and entertain a baby. He made it very difficult to make my dish. I tried to make it the day before, but at least I was able to do it today. This was a fun contest and I am so glad I got to do it now because I am going to be so busy soon I don't know if I could do one of the later ones (if there are later ones). I can't believe how many entries there are!

I didn't make it this time because I'm getting ready for a big trip, but hopefully next time! I'm excited to hear what people came up with for these ingredients!
