So my oldest kid had a stomach bug that lasted awhile a few weeks ago, I got it this past Sunday while camping and my littlest kid is going through it right now. I am still not eating much and she is not eating at all. I need to grocery shop and plan the family meals for the rest of the week and I have nothing. We are having Vegan hotdogs tonight only because I can't shop until tomorrow and they were leftover from camping.

Seems like all the meals I have made have been "busy" and none of our stomachs can handle that yet. What do you think? Oh and my hubby has been lucky and he isn't sick and has a very healthy appetite.

Did find Vegan Chicken Ramon cups at the grocery store while buying Saltines and Pediylite. What a score for sick bellies.

The B.R.A.T. diet!
Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast.
Easy on the stomach, usually easy to stomach it even without an appetite.

When I'm sick I eat lots of puffed rice cakes and mashed potatoes with raw or steamed greens mashed into them. Also couscous with lettuce and maybe some chickpeas. Polenta and porridge type stuff.

The sunflower seed based Mac and cheese on the PPK blog might be good. It's very comforting.

Thanks! I am still a newbie and the family is still in transition so we don't know that many easy vegan recipes.

Oh forgot about Cream of Wheat. That makes my tummy happy.

This tastes so good to me when sick. And my 8 month old loves it.

Mashed sweet potatoes are delicious and easy on the stomach. Just cook it in the microwave or oven (like a normal baked potato), and mash it up with a fork. You can add some nut butter for extra protein.

I like miso soup when I'm sick. It's very easy on the stomach. Noodles with earth balance are also a good option for upset tummies.

Go figure, I made noodles with Chloe's Kitchen Marinara Sauce and she wouldn't touch the plain noodles until I put a scoop of sauce on them. She gobbled up the sauce.

Thanks for the Cream of Wheat reminder. That worked great to help get food in her stomach. And we all love that here so the box won't go to waste. Now if it was only less then 100 degrees outside so we could really enjoy a warm breakfast.
