Hello folks! I love baking and recently turned vegan, which means that I am currently facing that sort-of awkward transition into the world of vegan baking. I would love to hear to recommendations for some good, preferably no-fail baking recipes (they can literally be anything- breads, cookies, cakes, pies- anything!); I've tried a few things so far but a lot of them don't turn out the way I expect them to. Much, much thanks in advance. :)

The pumpkin muffins in V'Con(I think) are pretty fail-proof. And delicious.

I think pretty much all of the recipes in Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World are no fail. For cookies, my favorite recipes include the chocolate chip cookies in Vegan Diner, the chocolate peanut butter cookies in Eat Drink and Be Vegan, the chocolate raspberry cookies in V'Con and the citrus glitters in Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar.

Another vote for the cupcake recipes in Vegan Cupcakes take over the world. Every single one I have made turned out perfectly and the recipe do not rely on commercial egg replacers.
Also, try googling "wacky cake", it is a naturally vegan chocolate cake recipe that is pretty old (I think the recipe originated in wartimes, wenn eggs and milk products were scarce) and can be found all over the internet. Wacky cake also always turns out excellently for me.

I find that the gingerbread cupcakes from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World are absolutely foolproof, they rise perfectly and taste great every time.

I third the suggestion of the cupcake recipes in VCTOTW. I have not had one fail yet - and I've made a LOT of the recipes. Most of the cookie recipes in VCIYCJ are pretty no-fail as well - my favourites have been the peanut apple pretzel ones.

On second thought, just make any of Isa's recipes - I seriously haven't had any fails, except for the crunchy peanut butter cookies in VWAV. :)

Vegan Brunch is chock-full of good recipes for muffins, scones, biscuits, and other baked goods to put in your pie hole. If you're looking for pie recipes, there's Vegan Pie In The Sky.

Oh and when baking cookies: Don't be alarmed when the cookies still are a bit soft on top when the bottom is golden brown and ready to be taken out of the oven. This fooled me a couple of times when I was a brand new vegan. I thought that the cookies had to be hard, so I kept on burning their bottoms. The cookies can't be gooey, but soft is fine. Just take them out of the oven and put them on a cooling rack, and once they're cold, they'll have the right hardness.

I can't believe no one has said Sparkled Ginger Cookies from VWAV! They're the best cookies ever, closely followed by Peanut Butter Pillows from VCIYCJ. Both recipes always turn out well, but I do chill the Ginger cookie dough before portioning it out.

The, and I quote, "Moist as Snooky’s Vag, Vegan Victoria Sponge Birthday Cake" from 1950s Vegan Housewife is among the best cake recipe's I've ever had and is stupidly easy to make.

I don't know that I'd call the peanut butter pillows fail-proof, though as I've had epic fails with them in the past. Dear Lard, with an intro like that, how can you say no?

Not only are they fail proof, they are quick and easy to make and super delicious!

Off the top of my head these are some of my favorite no-fail vegan recipes: Lemon Coconut Bunt Cake from VCON is absolutely amazing and works with a regular sheet pan too. Carrot Cake in VWAV is my favorite carrot cake ever and I always replace half the oil with applesauce. Pumpkin Bran Muffins from VB are incredibly good and I always replace half the oil with extra pumpkin. Gigantoid Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies from VWAV are incredible! Sweet Cornbread from V Diner is my favorite cornbread, just like mom used to make. Red Velvet Cupcakes from VCTOTW, well all the recipes I've tried in there actually! Apple Pie from V Diner is awesome. Chocolate Choc-Chip cookies from VCON are so good too! Peanut Butter Blondies from this site are addictive.
Happy vegan baking! There are so many amazing recipes, hope this list helps!

I'm gonna add Vegan Brownies. I made these for a family gathering sunday just gone, and my aunt, the woman who taught me to make regular brownies when I was four, couldn't tell that they were vegan. she looked really doubtful of my honesty when I assured her that, yes, they are actually vegan. Recipie can be found here: http://www.myveganplanet.com/vegan-reci ... -brownies/
