Dalron, I don't think anyone was trying to convince you to like them. Personally, I like them in sandwiches or on burgers or grilled cheeses, but I totally get why someone wouldn't like them. Vegan cheese is a very personal taste.

I've not tried the Tofutti slices but love the idea of sprinkling onion/garlic powders into EB when making a grilled cheese. Now I have to try this.

Now I'm craving tofutti slices. It's the only vegan cheese that you can reliably get here (the other kinds available are random health food store vegan cheeses from germany and they're far between). well, actually I'm craving cheezly, but for a lack of better, tofutti slices will do fine! I'm thinking a baguette with vegan mayo, cheese, onions, tomatoes and salads for lunch tomorrow!

i have had the mozzarella a few times, always think it is gross, and a few years later end up trying it again and coming to the same conclusion. there is VINEGAR in it. who puts vinegar in cheese? I think thats the yuck flavor i most pick up on. vegusto is amazing if you can get it. im about to buy the non-dairy formulary though!

That's what kills Tofutti for me: the vinegary sour/bitterness taste which everyone seems to have to hide with lots of toppings.

Why does Tofutti have to have that vinegar flavour? No 'real' cheese has it.

You can also do that when making a quessadilla. Chili powder also works well in that case.

IndoorKid, I could see myself doing that. But it would be better with some tofurkey deli slices wrapped around it too. Oh and some lettuce leaves. Maybe a little green onion. Then I'd dip it in mustard, veganaise, syriracha, or bbq sauce. Or all of them. I have trouble keeping things simple.
