should be, unless it got damp. i had one go bad and it smelled like ammonia or cat pee.

Daiya wedge with a bit of mold, just on the cut part. The rest is fine. Can I just chop off the bad parts, or should I just get rid of it all?

My policy is that if I can cleanly cut off the moldy bit and the rest looks fine, I'll eat it (bread being my only exception to this rule). I am still alive. Your mileage may vary.

i drank some fresh apple cider juuuuuuust as it was getting that nasty little bite. that was a few days ago and i haven't had the galloping shiitakes but my guts have been making all sorts of interesting noises. tis the season.

im sure the cider is fine... i mean, they make and sell hard cider, right? so how is that any different? i used to keep the fresh stuff in the fridge and keep drinking it even when it got that bite

The stuff they sell in stores is usually pasteurized, though. Funny aside, my brother posted a picture of some unpasteurized apple cider that my parents had brought to his family with this caption:

'Sometimes I think my parents forget what I do for a living...it's ok, just boiled it. #epidemiologist'

this stuff was from the farm, not pasteurized. i'm still alive. but my belly just made the most disturbing BLOP. Not a gurgle, but like a bomb.

The cider......I do that one purpose (have about 16 gallons of it fermenting in my kitchen right now). It's not just fine, it's awesome. If it's bacterial, it will get vinegary/sour though. Still won't harm you.

i was roasting nuts in the oven - there was a plastic lid. i did not notice. will the plastic fumes make my nuts bad?

I bought a packet of beetroot"mayo" salad and forgot it in backback for 2 days. When i found it I just chilled and ate it. Am I insane... it's been a few days and I'm still alive tho.

The entire contents of my fridge will belong in this thread after today. My power is being shut off for ~4 hours this morning for electrical work. I'm not throwing my food away, so fingers crossed I don't end up horribly ill!

four hours should be fine if you keep the doors closed. i've turned my refrigerator off overnight before to get rid of ice over the freezer vent.
