There are no preservatives or anything in them as they are fresh homemade type. I don't see any mold on them. I will try them out I guess... thanks

Breads are generally fine until they're moldy (or stale, but that's not unsafe just not tasty) whether they've got preservatives or not. They'll just go moldy faster if they don't have them.

I left out blue berries and black berries all night. I had just bought them that day Will they still be good to eat? Also left out broccoli and lettuce. (It was a rough night and I went to bed right after dinner)

Fresh or frozen? If they are fresh, I would just inspect everything carefully and toss anything that smells off or any berries or lettuce leaves that look wilted or slimy. The lettuce is probably the most likely to be funky. I think you should be in the clear from a food safety standpoint, but I can't find authoritative info to back me up.

All these fruits and vegetables would be left out overnight in a greengrocers with absolutely no problem.

I bought some Louisville Jerky, and one of the packages had a big white mass in the middle of the package. It was warm from shipping, so I assumed it was mold. Strangely, when I handled a peice that was covered in it, the white stuff disappeared.

Is this mold? Safe to eat? All the white went away.

Upon further inspection of the small amounts of white that were left, it appears solid, more like a solidified oil than fuzzy like mold. It has pretty bizarre behavior though.. the huge chunk in the middle didn't turn into liquid, just sort of faded away back into the jerky.

Yeah, I would not eat that. Too much of an ick factor.

I would maybe contact the company and see if they have noticed this before. Otherwise it does sound like it might be defective, so I probably wouldn't eat it.

Hey there! I'm the owner of Louisville Vegan Jerky Co. (long time ppk reader) and just wanted to say sorry about your experience! Sometimes in the hot summer months this happens. Really depends on the vendor and how they ship. Please send me an email with your name and address to : Stanley@louisvilleveganjerkycompany.com and I'll send you some replacement bags in the mail :)

How long is the salad samurai ranch dressing good for? I know the books says 2 days, but I am on day 6 today and it still tastes and smells fine......

3.5 months expired peanut butter? Never opened. It smellz ok. Its cheap sugar-filled Kraft type, not a natural one where the oil separates if that makes any difference.

Eat it. Those dates are only to cover the hurt of the manufacturer.

I bought some silk almond milk last Saturday. I used some to make some muffins, and had some in my cereal this morning. After having my cereal I noticed that the Use By date was April, 25, 2014. It didn't smell or taste funny. I am pregnant so I am a little worried. That and I can't tell if the nausea I've been feeling is from the almond milk or morning sickness. (Most likely morning sickness) So... should I finish it or discard?

honestly if you're pregnant I wouldn't risk it. Otherwise I'd usually say it's ok. Where did you buy it from? I bet you could get a good refund/comp.

If it was a tetra pack box, you're fine! And yeah, I'd still drink the rest, but I'm not pregnant :) You'll be fine though! That shitte is meant to last an apocalypse.

Thanks everyone. I won't worry about the milk that I drank but I might see if my husband wants the rest. He always eats things that are past their expiration date. I swear I'm going to find him dead in the kitchen one day!

is a general rule of thumb for diy dressings (oil - vinegar based) good in the fridge for 2 weeks?

Yuck? I guess open them and see if they are the slightest bit slimy or weird first, if you are daring. I would probably just chuck those straight away.

Tofu (water packed) and tofurky deli slices that warmed to room temp before going in the fridge, both unopened?
