I'm wondering if I can grind up my agar flakes to use as powder in some of the vegan cupcake recipes? My DS's birthday is tomorrow and he wants the apple cider ones and I had a terrible time when I made the cappuccino ones with agar flakes coming out with a strange texture (which I think was due to not dissolving properly but not sure on that count). My DD is very allergic to eggs and these recipes have been lifesavers for birthdays. :)

I've done it before in my coffee grinder without a problem.

Thank you so much. I've not been able to track down just powder so I was hoping it would work. Off to pull out the grinder.....

yeah, what he said. you can use the flakes, just use 3x the amount of flakes to the amount of powder called for. as long as you know that 1tablespoon = 3 teaspoons you're good to go. and the flakes can take a bit longer to dissolve, so make sure there are no flake chunks.
