That sounds disgusting.

It irritated me more when they quietly discontinued the noodle box. Not because I was really a fan of it, but because it was a food option other than a plain bagel.

PS, please get peanut butter for your bagels, starbucks.

I'm not pushing for Starbuks, BUT, Julialegume and I noticed in passing at the airport location the other day that the box formerly with hummus/veggies/pita/chicken is now sans chicken. Huh.

Every time I looked, the noodle box contained honey. Maybe it was a Canadian thing?

Now I'm indignant I've never been given noodles OR hummus.

I think the cold sesame noodle box was definitely vegan (at least for a while, because I remember PPK buzz and staring at it, though I've never ordered legitimate food there) in the US.

I bought it - it was vegan (usa) but it was not worth the $....hardly filling and it just tasted cheap.

I either voted or posted for peanut butter on MyStarbucksIdea.com. I'm going to start going to the Little Vegan Coffee Shop That Could™ though. If they have LittleVeganCoffeShopThatCouldIdea.com, I'm going to suggest making bathtub sized drinks. I will drink all the cafe au soy with FrappiWhippi™ that I can possibly hold. I will bathe in the rest.

Holy cow. Apparently SB isn't the most insanely expensive place to buy coffee. My mom stopped in the Caribou, and what I pay 3.85 for at SB would have been 6.15. She left sans drink.

I wonder what Jesus Java charges. Of course, you'd have to pay me to go in there...

The noodle box has a square of dark chocolate with dairy in it, as a parting fork you from the Mermaid.

My nearest one got a lot of visits because a stroller walk there and back would conk the bairn out for a long nap. However, they're kitty corner to an independent place. An independent place that has clearly marked vegan desserts. It's two extra street crossings, and I had money preloaded on the Sbux card, and I got in the habit of buying venti frappuccinos, etc. But they were walking a thin line already.

I've had coffee in 4 places in the past couple weeks. Not something I ordinarily do, but it happened. 2 chains, 2 independents. None charged extra for soy. 'Sup with your coffee, Americaland?

I don't remember their actual name. We have a coffee shop run by Baptist missionaries. It is staffed entirely by volunteers and all profits go to funding whatever it is they do wherever it is they go. Heavy emphasis on proselytizing though, so I'm pretty sure that any good they might do is entirely offset by the negatives.

I read their whole site a few years ago, and nothing on it encouraged me to support them by buying a cup of coffee.

I found another local shop that I pass on the way to work, but never noticed. Now I know why: their hours are 9-5. How does a coffee shop stay open with those hours!? Too late for people who start work at 9 to go, and close to early for the lounging with friends and a cookie crowd.

We have a store here called "Coffee Crossing," a little more subtle than "Jesus Java."

Just to be clear, there is not proselytizing at Coffee Crossing, their website just talks about how their business is founded on faith, and it's across the street from their church.

Jesus Java is my own rude name for the place. I've forgotten the real name. But they exist solely to fund missions and their website is a wall of Bible verses.
