“The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it.” ― Oscar Wilde

I'm sure we all have moments where we say screw it and eat something we know we shouldn't. So what are yours?

Over the years I've become allergic to a lot of fruits that I loved as a kid. Peaches, pears, apples, cherries, nectarines, apricots, etc. (I must've been Vlad the Impaler or Ghengis Khan in a past life to earn this karmic retribution, I swear). But sometimes I figure that hey, that peach cobbler over there looks like it's worth an hour of minor misery. I always regret the decision, yet a few months later the masochistic cycle repeats itself when I see an apple pie or something else yummy.

It's mostly just junk food for me. Like... I know I shouldn't eat loads of fake meat type foods, but sometimes it's nice to eat a fakon sandwich in the morning and a meatless feast pizza for lunch. Not that I do that very often, but it still feels kind of unhealthy when I do. Also biscuits. Have not been able to stop eating oreos lately (the damn things are on offer in the shop near me so I can't resist buying them either).

The only food I genuinely shouldn't eat is dairy products (they used to make me really, lie-down-in-utter-agony ill) but as a vegan I don't eat those anyway so it's not an issue.

You might want to check your food allergy. I have an issue with chlorine and apparently also with some cleaning products used on certain vegetables and fruits. The reaction to the chlorine and cleaning chemicals that stay with them (presumably in the skin) I mistook as having a food allergy for.

Perhaps you have a good handle on what you are actually allergic to, I didn't.

I can tell the intention of the OP wasn't anything against the rules, but I feel this thread is going to head into disordered eating talk and/or food shaming pretty quickly just based on the title, so I'm going to close it and ask that we don't start discussions about forbidden foods or guilt associated with food.
