I've never personally used it but a friend of mine ordered some and made meringue with it. It was more foamy then non-vegan meringue but still came pretty close. If you search Bryanna Clark Grogan's blog, she messed around with it and posted a couple recipes.
Apparently if you add fat to it, it melts, but that's basically all I know.

yeah, i used it to make marshmallows for the unedited podcast currently putrefying on the hard drive.

they were very airy, so not really suited for the grill. however, it's possible i whipped it too long and/or at too high of a speed. i also made the soy protein isolate version, and the versawhip one was much better. the SPI one had a distinct soy flavor and were cream colored instead of white. they also weren't as stable at room temp.

p.s. this is where i got it from, i'm pretty sure they're the manufacturer.

http://www.4mular.com/ (they were extremely nice and sent me a generous sample for free.)
:edit: oops! i was mistaken, they sent me the sample of the genutine. brainfart. the dude who runs the vegan marshmallows blog is the one who supplied me with the versawhip sample.

::another edit:: if you want to order the bulk sample, i'd be happy to split it with you and any other philadelphians that would like to experiment.
