Can I switch the two? I don't have any carob, but want to make a recipe. But a whole cup of cocoa powder sounds like a lot!!

you could use cocoa powder instead of carob powder for sure. it'll taste like chocolate and not like carob, but I'm not sure about the amount. What's the recipe?

Smooth Maple-Carob Zippers. It is a snack ball recipe from a raw snacks book. I know that cocoa is probably not raw. But it makes 40 balls, so maybe it's just a big recipe?

Ingredients:

1 cup rasins
1 cup raw pecans
1 cup raw carob powder
3 tblsp maple syrup (also not raw! It's boiled, right? I'm not a purist, anyway.)
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
coconut oil

i would definitely try just using half a cup of cocoa for starters. raw cacao and raw carob has a way less pungent taste than regular cocoa in my opinion. you can always add more!
