We are having our dinner this Saturday and the one thing I haven't found is cran. I found dehydrated cranberries and some juice, so i thought i would rehydrate the berries, chop them, and make a jelly with them in the juice with agar. I have a liter of juice, anyone have any idea of how much agar I should use? I also don't think i will add sugar, it's typical "cran cocktail" type juice so i don't think i will need it, but any feedback will be greatly appreciated, as i only have one liter of juice and can't screw this up. i'm looking to replicate the "cran in a can" of my childhood.

ETA: if it matters, i have powdered agar, not flakes.

Just from googling agar "jell-o" recipes it seems like 1 tsp powder per 2 cups of juice is the appropriate amount to make a jello consistency, which I think is what you want.

thanks dear, i was searching for "jelly" instead of "jello" and kept finding argument threads on the canning forums about why gelatin was supreme....
