OK so does your bulk bin have cashew pieces? And are they way cheaper than whole cashews? I've seen them for about 6 bucks a pound, and I'm just fact checking with y'all that that's pretty accurate.

$11/lb at the health food store I used to have accessnto; $9/lb at Wegmans, but they only have salted.

I'm just going from memory here, but whole cashews are usually like $9/lb and the pieces are around $6/lb. I think.

That's the way it is where I buy my bulk stuff. I know the organic pieces are right around the same price as whole conventional cashews ($6-ish?).

They are just under $5 a lb for the pieces at my store.

i can get (raw, unsalted) pieces for about $5/lb at my awesome local health food store. i can also get them around that price at indian stores near here. i don't know about the whole ones because i always use pieces, but they're definitely more than the pieces.

Umm... I hate to tell you but I gotta agree with $6/lb for pieces.

Oh, yeah, whole ones are cheaper at my local Indian grocer. $4 or 5 bucks a pound.

I just bought 500 g (so just over 1 lb) of whole unsalted cashews on my shopping trip this weekend and it cost $9.99.

I don't really see "cashew pieces" per se, or labeled as such around these parts. I mean some of my "whole cashews" are in pieces but most are whole. If I want pieces, I guess I'd chop them.

Organic cashew pieces AU$15.00/kilo
Organic cashews AU$23.25/kilo

Online prices from a wholesaler to the public, AU dollar is about the same as US (a bit lower value) and a kilo is 2.2lbs.

Broken ones are something like $5-$6/lbs for raw. I don't remember if they're organic or not....

I just got a couple lbs of raw cashew pieces at Whole Foods on sale for 3.99/lb. I think they are usually 4.99. The whole cashews were I think 6.99.

I'm going to go with the $6/lb. pieces and $9/lb. whole for raw. I can't remember if they're organic or not.

Do they just sort out the pieces from the whole cashews, or do they intentionally break up cashews to sell pieces?

ETA: I think they're actually $6.99 and $9.99.

From the bulk bins, raw pieces are $3.44/lb, and whole are $5.67/lb. I'm pretty sure they're not organic.

The price around here varies too, depending on where I buy them.
At the co-op near my house they are $6/lb for pieces. Another health food store has them for $9/lb and the cheapest I have found is $4/lb. I never buy whole so I can't give a price there.
