Anybody know of any brands that are vegan either on purpose or by accident? I'm sick of using sliced bread for my veggie dogs, I want a bun damnit!

I am pretty sure that most of the store brand ones are. You know, the ones that are 99 cents a pack.

Oh, and there are some Whole Foods ones.

yeah, in desperate times i get store brand ones. I'd prefer to find whole wheat ones, but most store brand ones don't have honey or milk or anything.

It varies, but usually one of the cheapo brands is vegan. You know, the wonderbread equivalent of hot dog buns. Some of them randomly contain whey, but usually at least one varieties is vegan.

I bought some good ones at Trader Joe's a few years ago- they were wholewheat, no idea if they still have them.

DUDE: Barowsky's.

Whole wheat, vegan, no high-fructose corn syrup, and they're really soft and nice. I've seen them at Harvest Co-Op JP and Stop and Shop JP. Even says vegan friendly on the label, which makes me happy.

Rudi's Organic Bakery? That's a fairly common brand, they have hamburger and hot dog buns. It's the only brand of bread I buy from the regular grocery store.

I think Oroweat brand are. I know the hamburger buns are vegan. It's basically the only vegan bread I can find at our store.

I've had the burger buns, but didn't know they made hot dog buns, too; I'll have to check this out!

Anyway, the regular store brand ones at Shaw's are vegan, and so are Arnold's, if you're feeling classy (!).
(Thanks for reminding me that there's a package of Smart Dogs in the refrigerator that wants us to eat them!)

Yep! Was just going to come in here and say this. I'm pretty sure they also have whole wheat buns and they never use corn syrup in their products.

Some grocery store bakeries sell hoagie rolls that work great for hot dogs. Especially if-like me-you like a shiitake ton of kraut and onions and veggies and junk.

I use hoagie rolls alot for veggie sausages because I smother them in kraut, peppers and onions. I like to keep it simple with veggie dogs, a little kraut, ketchup and spicy mustard

Trader Joe's has really good white ones without any crepe in them. The only place I can find vegan whole wheat buns is Whole Foods.

I always thought that Dempster's and Wonderbread's buns were vegan, am I wrong here? It's been a while since I've bought any buns.

WF has buns that are marked vegan on the package. Convenient!

I was at TJ's today for some random shiitake and stopped to check theirs, they aren't marked with the V but they are definitely vegan! I bought like 4 packages! I've been eating veggie dogs all forking day!

Yea--no more spam!

I haven't been able to find the WF hot dog buns that say vegan on the label. Everything looks OK besides enzymes--anyone know any more about this?
