My blender is not great. The motor makes angry growling noises. I have to scrape down the sides constantly.
So my question; I want to make cashew ricotta, am I doomed? Has anyone made it in a not so great blender and had it turn out?

In case anyone was curious, it worked, but I had to switch everything into my food processor (that I didn't want to use to grind cashews because it's my nicest appliance and I'm terrified to break it) once I added the tofu because once you add more than a cup or so of food to my blender it just looks at you with a confused look on it's shiny plastic face and when you hit the buttons it just grunts and sighs and does nothing.
I need a new blender.

I don't know about a new blender. For anything like that that doesn't have a lot of liquid I use my food processor, even though I have a VitaMix. And it's easier to get semi-solids out of a food processor than a blender too.

My blender hates everything though, even liquids. I'm going to save up for a Ninja.

i always use my food processor for pretty much everything too since its pretty new (i think i got it exactly a year ago) and my blender is ancient and craptastic. it takes about 20 mins for me to make a smoothie with that thing

I third cashews in the food processor. Though I did blend them once with an immersion blender. Now that was fun.
