The round glass tray in my microwave broke into two pieces. So, I'm wondering if I can glue the parts back together and if so what kind of glue do you recommend? The microwave is going on 17 years old and it still works great. It's one of those they don't make 'em like they used to great.
When the weather clears up I'm going to hit some thrift stores to see if I can find a replacement. I bought one that was the same size, but the three knobs on the bottom of the plate were too big. It's in my microwave, can't use it without it, but it doesn't rotate and kinda wobbles.
Thanks.

Don't glue it. You can probably buy a replacement, either thrifted or from a store. Any glue you use is likely to give off fumes, burn, or spark when you use the microwave.

I haven't found a replacement online yet, but it looks like an old one would cost about as much as a new microwave. I'm still hunting.

I'm not super optimistic about how well that would work on one of those glass plates, though. Thrifting one is probably a better idea.

I'll still hunt for a replacement. I just need a week or two of good weather here so I can get out and go hit the thrift stores. The glue idea is temporary fix.
Then after an exhaustive search, I'll go buy a new one.
