Mmm, yeah. Fries. And the beer-battered tofu from VB.
I have occasionally used it in salad dressing when I was out of other vinegars.

Yes, I agree with everything everybody said. Malt vinegar on fries is da bomb, and it is great on fish and chips as well as to use in a pinch in place of other dressings. I once made an oil and vinegar-based potato salad with malt and it was a huge hit.

I bought some because I saw a recipe for a marinade. I don't make fries at home so I'm also perplexed with what to do with it and I never did get around to making the marinade.

Oh, malt vinegar is so lovely. The malt flavour adds a touch of sweetness but it's also kind of rustic and... Earthy? I don't have another word for it.

VB beer battered tofu is one of the things I'm making this week for the challenge, and I've already got my malt vinegar and frozen fries ready! I might make some Mary Rose sauce, too.

I always loved malt vinegar on my hush puppies, too.

This is timely because I was just cleaning out my spice/oil/vinegar cabinet this weekend and found a bottle of malt vinegar I didn't know I had. I don't like fries, so I'm not going to do that. Marinade is a good idea, though.

Why stop at fries? I put it on mashed potatoes as well. Also good with cabbage.

good question! I will echo everyone else here - I bought a bottle last year to make Chloe's baked french fries and haven't done a thing with it since.
