There's a sandwich shop in Chico that makes vegan scones in the mornings, and I mentioned to him that he should add icing to them. He asked if you can make vegan icing, and I said yes and that I would bring him a couple of recipes. But now that I'm out there googling shiitake, I can't find the type of icing I'm looking for. The recipes I'm coming up with are icings for cakes. I'm looking for, you know, like icing for donuts. But even those aren't right. Suggestions?

usually those types of glazes are just powdered sugar, soy milk, vanilla and maybe a little earth balance.

icing sugar (sieve) + a little bit of hot water
stir well

optional: add lemon juice (about a teaspoon) or cocoa

You want glaze not icing! Super simple:
Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons almond milk (or your favorite non-dairy milk)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

If you're looking for something a little thicker then add 1 teaspoon melted vegetable shortening. I assume they would be doing larger quantities in a standing mixer?
