I just finished making kittee's recipe from papa tofu a few minutes ago!! I've never had king cake before so i'm really excited. We're waiting for my daughter to get out of dance class to cut into it so my other kids (3 boys) are hating her right now. I did a cinnamon one and a cream cheeze one. 7:25 can't come soon enough!

i made the apple one and it was awesome. it was the closest thing i've had to a danish in what, 7 years?
i didn't use the tofu-and-cream-chz, btw.... i took some vegan soy cream (creme fraiche type) and mixed it with the cornstarch, a bit of agar and the other essential ingredients and threw it in the micro and stirred it til it was thickened, and it stood in pretty well (just in case any future reader is looking for options)
Does anyone know if king cake freezes well? Or how long it stays fresh for? I know this sounds weird, but I'm making one for NYE and I will be way too busy the day of the party, so I'd like to make it at least one day ahead.

its probably doable, (it is almond based, right? my mom freezes hazelnut cakes all the time); but you'd better to heat it in oven before serving and eat the whole cake within a few hours
