Chocolate pasta?????

Lol, yes. It was a gift, some years ago actually, so I'm hoping it's still good!

Was it good? Is the pasta sweet? Did it go with garlicky broccoli?

The pasta came apart a bit while cooking, I assume because it was so old. It did smell a bit cocoa-y while cooking, but it didn't taste sweet at all. The alfredo was pretty good, but I'm sure it would have been better on a regular linguine or fettuccine (my pasta was ridged and a short kind-of corkscrew shape). I had the broccoli on the side, not mixed with the pasta, but the flavors didn't clash at all.

It was really just a novelty I think and probably would have tasted better years ago. I really hate to waste food though and am very glad to have it out of my pantry, lol!

However, I have seen several recipes online for making your own cocoa pasta and I would be very intrigued by that. Perhaps with a pumpkin or butternut-based sauce? Or ravioli perhaps...

Today is "mystery day" aka bags of things from the freezer which I guess I never labelled. Heating up on the stove now. So far we have : down home curry from IDI, some sort of cashew based curry with mushrooms and spinach, some sort of steel with seitan and mushrooms.

I made a chana masala but then, inspired by the contents of my fridge, I also made a huge pot of freeform minestrone and I dare say I am excited for these leftovers.

I want to participate but my phone sucks. But I will try downloading the app!

Tonight for dinner I made chickpea tuna melts on baguettes with a side of roasted broccoli.

Just finished making rice paper bacon to go on top of stovetop mac & cheez tonight. I think I'll also accompany it with roasted green beans from the garden. And I might even make vegan wedge salad (iceberg lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, daiya blue cheez dressing & chives) as a starter. It's so stinking hot here and smoke from fires, so iceberg lettuce is so satisfying in its fresh, crunchy, water-filled way.

oh shucks - I hadn't used the forums in ages and then came on here because I'm stuck in a rut food wise (I seem to be cooking the same foods on rotation) and saw that the forum is going away. Is this reddit thread still open? it won't let me comment as it says that it's been archived :(
