I received a very pretty jar of nuts packed in syrup. while a few nice pistachios and walnuts gleam on the outside, the great majority of the nuts inside seem to be minced hazelnuts or maybe almonds. Very bland, to the point where i wondered if they were actually peanuts. They're pretty small, though, grain of rice size. Any suggestions as to what I can do with them? (all i can think of is baklava and i really don't like phyllo dough) thx

How syrupy is the syrup? This may be crazy, but my first thought was to sub it in a recipe for pumpkin bread or banana bread or the like, for a recipe that calls for maple syrup.

Unfortunately, the only vegan ice cream in this country is the ice cream i make myself, and i can't be bothered (especially now the weather is getting colder). they really have almost no taste, so they're a pretty boring topping. the syrup is "supposed to be" honey, i.e. it's corn syrup with some sort of flavoring in it, so it is pretty thick. maybe i will separate them and use the syrup for something.... (and the nuts will go in the dog food....)

You could make nut rolls. Maybe add half a teaspoon of almond extract to give more of an almond illusion, or some actual chopped almonds. Or add cinnamon and make cinnamon rolls with crunchy nut bits.
