I like to buy a nice bar of dark chocolate once a week, and eat a small piece each night to cure sweet cravings. It also doesn't hurt that dark chocolate is good for you ;) does anyone else do this? I'd love to get recommendations for chocolate bars and brands to try!
During my pregan days, I didn't do this, but it was also a lot easier to find chocolate since I didn't have to worry about milk fat.

I like endangered species or Ritter sport marzipan. Target is the cheapest place to get both of those.

My favorite is the Chocolove Chilies and Cherries bar.

Chocolate!!! I love it! I probably go through one bar a week. Right now I have some crazy pink peppercorn bar that I got on sale.
I love trying all the different Chocolove flavors, I like the Endangeered Species bars, I liked some of the holiday flavors from Theo, and I love the fair trade bars from Trader Joes. I'm sure there are more that I like.

Yes! I love Theo and Chocolove. They both make salty chocolate bars that are right up my alley. I've been wanting to try the chili one, but haven't worked up the courage yet. The Chrismas before last (my first as a vegan) my dad gave me this awesome gift pack of single-origin chocolate bars, each from a different country, from Trader Joe. They were so good and you could really taste the difference eating them side-by-side. They were the perfect indulgence with a nice bottle of wine in lieu of a cheese plate, which is what I had with fancy wine in my pregan days. Sadly, I have not been able to find this chocolate palette, as I believe it was called, at TJs since. If anyone spots their return or knows of anything similar, please let me know!

I'm also jumping on the Theo and Chocolove bandwagon. Try the Theo toasted coconut flavor or the Chocolove sea salt and almond! Yum yum yum yum! Both brands also have an orange chocolate variety that's pretty good too.

I love Montezuma orange and geranium dark chocolate. Sounds weird but tastes delicious! Though I'm not sure it's that good at curing sweet cravings as I can eat half a large bar in a day...

How do you keep chocolate around for more than a few minutes let alone a week? Do you have some kind of special powers? Chili chocolate is good, I really like chocolate with candied ginger and last summer had some with lime and sea salt with a wine pairing and that was awesome. But the big question I have is how do you guys keep chocolate around? I heard it can spoil within minutes of purchase so I do my best to consume it right away.

giddy yoyo is expensive, but amazing. raw dark chocolate with flavours like chill, vanilla and sea salt, spirulina, and my current favourite, banana and nutmeg. i'm having a hard time using it up, actually (i have 3 squares left from when i bought it nearly 2 months ago); keep having to justify its use, since it's a rare treat.

I love dark chocolate... well actually all chocolate, but I cannot eat as much dark so its probably better for me! You're very restrained only eating a small piece each night. It does contain anti-oxidants which give it the kind of health benefits you'll get from red wine but I read that to get the benefits of the anti-oxidants you'd need to be eating almost a large bar every day! It still contains caffeine and saturated fat and is high in calories. So like you I eat it with moderation!

chocolove almond + sea salt and orange peel are both amazing (as is the raspberry)
mast brothers olive oil + almond + sea salt is also great (most of their chocolates aren't quite sweet enough for me, but the almonds mellow it out enough for me to enjoy it)
I second the ritter sport marzipan recommendation too. If we're heading away from bars and to candy, the justin's dark chocolate pb cups are awesome too.

Chocolady (Aiello) Menta bars are my favorite dark chocolate mint bars with their delicate yet distinctive mint taste. Not an almost alcoholic or overwhelming minty flavor like I encounter in other mint chocolate bars but just a perfect balance of delightful mint flavor and chocolate. So good.

TCHO are pretty tasty. and tazo too. (but the bars, not the discs. the discs are too grainy.)

Oh, don't get me wrong, if there are cookies or brownies, it's hard to not eat them all. I just started appreciating dark chocolate recently, so I can savor it ;) Also, I'm looking for brands as well as flavors, so if you could list the brand with the flavor that would be awesome :)

those chocolove salty almond bars have ruined me for all other chocolate. my grocery store was out of them a few weeks ago, so i bought a normal dark chocolate almond bar, and it was such a disappointment. i had to sprinkle salt on a plate, lick a square of chocolate, and dip it in the salt, and then it was o.k.

I make my own chocolate bars, I think I will get back on the habit tomorrow...maybe with nibs, pb, coconut and rice puffs...
New Tree's Belgian Biscuit is really divine. It has a nice texture. It has Biscoff type cookie crumbs in the mix. I just do not buy it often cuz it is $6 a bar here.

I'm in love with Salazon's sea salt and turbinado bar. Also the Divine mint bar.

Also Green and Black's is good and they have a ginger one. I also like chocolate and toffee but those are typically milk chocolate. I would do horrible, unspeakable things for chocolate or red raspberry anything they are my weakness.....now I shall stop to get chocolate on the way home....
