oh no!!! does anyone know about the Food Lion brand? Are they the same? Those are the ones I get on my yearly pilgrimage to Richmond.

FL brand was still vegan a couple of weeks ago when I packed some for my swap partner.

I believe the ingredients were identical, I always suspected they were made by the same company and just packaged for the two stores, so keep your eyes on them!

I've found butterscotch chips at my local kosher market, so I highly recommend scoping it out if you have one in the area.

I just finished up some old hoarded Log House brand that went unvegan some long time ago. Vintage.

Now I just finally threw off those shackles and felt like it was safe to not hoard.

And this news forks that alllll up.

It starts again, I will buy 5 bags and never use them because they are the possibly last vegan butterscotch chips in existence. This is why I overbuy people! GAH!

My condolences to everybody affected by this tragedy. Luckily, this local chain called Nuts To You has vegan butterscotch chips by the pound!

Not to rub it in, but I currently have butterscotch, white and semisweet chocolate chips in my pantry now...can't wait to bake this weekend!

I asked to see the Nuts To You catalog's ingredient list (in store) and some of the vegan goodies I found were these butterscotch chips (kosher parve, which I know doesn't always mean vegan, but the ingredients were), kookburra strawberry licorice!!, Clark Coconut Crunches (yumm! like the inside of a butterfinger)

Say whaaaat? That place has vegan butterscotch AND white chips?! I've passed the center city one so many times and had no idea!

Why do they pull that shiitake? They want to pull more consumers in with the allergen milk.

I totally wrote Food Lion last night. Haven't heard back.

Just asking them who their supplier is and if the same change is happening to theirs and to ask them to not let them change it! Or at least change back!

I don't know if the allergen thing would fly since I'm sure the chips are processed on machinery that already has milk on it, so allergic people already stay away. Though I guess there are milk sensitive people.

Food Lion emailed me and wants to talk on the phone!

Maybe we can somehow preserve the butterscotch chips!

ETA- If anyone has a bar code of the butterscotch chips from FL please post it here. They are asking for it and I'm moving right now so if I even still have any, they are packed up and away.

I don't know that Food Lion has the same supplier. The chips do not look the same as the Price Chopper one. And the texture is a bit different.
