I saw some at the oriental market after seeing a recipe on the PPK using it so I decided to bring it home and make some Mock Duck Chili for lunches this week. Right now? I have to say I'm impressed and it's awesome... Not by itself (I tried a nibble and it was VERY salty), but it's awesome in the chili.

I've had it at Thai restaurants (awesome), but in a can? That it a little scary but I'd probably try it.

Scary! I've seen the cans of it... it looks seriously unappetizing.

I got a can of mock duck from China Town. It was tasty, but I was freaked out by how they molded it to look like skin that feathers had been plucked from. So there isn't really an appropriate option for me to select. I think I'm going to have to null my vote. Wait, is there no null vote? Will I be forced to vote for something I don't believe in just to see what the results of this poll are? Well, I'm off to the whine tasting.

I think it's delicious. I have to agree with everyone who said that it's so good in Thai food.

It's OK. I'm not crazy about the sauce it comes in, though you can just wash it off.

I never had duck pregan so the idea kind of squicks me out, but like idji said, it is just seitan, so maybe I'll give it a try sometime.

I'm admittedly a bit irrational about it. If they just called it seitan and didn't put those weird skin bumps on it, I'd probably try it. But now, no. I never had duck when I ate meat, and though I'm sure this is actually quite different, I don't want to know what duck tastes like!

You all are missing out. It's really good!
