hi y'all. my go-to brand of tofu is nasoya, extra firm organic. however my local Earth Fare had the wildwood brand on sale and there was a coupon too so i thought i'd give it a try. i bought organic, extra firm, and the label says sprouted tofu. the tofu smelled just fine when it took it out of the container, but after giving it a quick rinse and gentle press/pat dry before officially pressing the tofu, i definitely noticed that the tofu has a completely different feel/texture to it. slick and soft?

Was this the kind that comes in a tub of water or the kind that comes sealed in a bag with very little liquid?

It was packed in water.

The nasoya I buy is too but the wildwood feels different and seems to have a different inner texture. Is it because its from sprouted soybeans or sprouted tofu?

I guess? I dunno, the bagged kind seems similar to all the other packed-in-bag tofu we buy (there are a couple of brands available here-- Wildwood, Jack & the Beanstalk, Trader Joe's).

Yeah, the sprouted stuff is a little different. Sounds about right.

The bagged stuff is more of a hard sponge type texture!
