So my darling husband has asked me what Santa Claus should bring me this year, and he's no longer skeptical that when I name a small appliance as my top choice gift after seeing me do cartwheels over my food processor last year.

So I want a waffle maker.

The BEST waffle maker.

And preferably one that has removable pans so that I can wash them in my sink.

Any recommendations? The fate of future waffles is in YOUR HANDS!

Oooooh, I want one too, but the selection is overwhelming. My copy of America's Test Kitchen (Kitchen Equipment) Buying Guide 2012 suggests Chef'sChoice WafflePro Express--but I haven't had a chance to look up the features.

I have a VillaWare one, which has interchangeable panels for grilling and frying. I am not very happy with it, as in the 4 years I have had it, I have yet to make waffles that did not come out looking like scrambled waffles. The signals are very confusing. It beeps, it lights on and off, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.

Of course I can't even seem to be able to handle vegan pancakes, so maybe it's me. Never had issues with pancakes or waffles when omni. Oh well, I will keep trying. Maybe I will buy the Chef's Choice one and see if it's me.
