I've seen so many recipes that call for young coconut meat and I didn't know where to get it.
This weekend I was at an ethnic store and guess what I found.
But, as things go, now I can't find a single recipe featuring young coconut.
Do you have a favourite recipe that's fairly easy?

Is it fresh or canned? If it's fresh, I'd probably eat it raw, puree into a smoothie or use it in a Thai curry, sliced.
If it's canned, I'd probably use it pureed, as the base for a cream pie with other fun stuff (of course, you could do that with both).

if it's fresh, you can scoop out the insides and dry the husk to make a tiki hut for your brood of misshapen chenille chicks. i assume everyone has plenty of those hanging around waiting for someone to give them a tiki hut to party in.

if it were me, i'd probably just drink the juice and scoop the delicious jelly-like flesh directly into my mouth.

i only drink the water and slurp up the scraped off flesh. it isn't that much really and it's such a pain in the asparagus to get out the sawzall to cut open the mother forker that i don't usually buy them any more.
