So I have a batch of brownies in the oven that were a "test run" for thanksgiving, even though ive made this recipe before, im making a batch to bring to the bfs familys house who, other than him, are all omnis. I want to make sure i can make them perfectly to blow their minds with vegan baking.

Welp, I forgot the flax egg and theyve already been cooking for 10 minutes so i cant pull 'em out to remix the batter with them. What do you think the result will be?

Ingredients are flax/water, ap flour, almond meal, cocoa powder, chocolate chips melted with EB, salt, baking soda, sugar, soy milk vanilla and crushed newman o's.

I'm obvs going to make a different batch for the bfs family, but will I be able to eat these in the meantime or will they be a mushy mess?

I doubt they will hold together. Maybe you can repurpose it? Mix with ice cream, maybe?

Yeah, they might come out a bit dry and crumbly. Mixing with icecream sounds good, or use as a crust for cheesecake.

I kinda feel like the flax is what makes brownies really gooey, fudgy and delicious - they'll prob be a bit like.. crumbly, cake? Do show us, though!

Yeah, it sounds like with all the almond meal and flour they'll be a bit crumbly without the flax egg, but maybe not. I'm curious. I think you'll still be able to eat them.

What were they like going into the pan? How many flax eggs did you leave out? My guess is they'll just be a bit dry, but still edible.

So after baking for the 32 minutes called for in the baking time, my toothpick test came out with a ton of batter so I baked them another 20 minutes. I just lifted them out of the pan and I'm really surprised. They are way more delicate than normal and super fudgey but the top and bottom cooked enough to help it stay together a bit! I just stuck them in the fridge, i think once they are totally chilled, its gonna be awesome!

I will remember the flax egg for the next batch though so they will travel from boston to maine in good shape.
