The frozen turnovers (apple and cherry) and frozen puff pastry are "buttery"...and vegan. That amuses me, too. Well. so do Nutter-Butters. Ok, I'm off-topic now.

Gardein orange chickenless spotted at La Mesa Costco (E of San Diego - may be at Friar's Rd location but wasn't a couple weeks ago when I was last there) on Fletcher Pkwy.

I repeat, the chickenless has landed.

Our Costco doesn't have much "vegan" vegan stuff, but we got some good finds today!

Gardenburger "malibu" burgers
Wholly Guacamole (4 pack for $8.49!)
agave nectar
maple syrup
vanilla extract
roasted red peppers
tomato paste
olive oil
frozen organic blueberries
burger buns (for 4th of July!)

I don't remember all the prices, but everything was huge for a really good deal. I ended up spending like a hundred bucks. Oops.

I found several vegan cold salads in the case where the cheese used to be at the Louisville Costco. No idea where the cheese is now, don't really care, but over half of that case is now vegan. All the hummus and guac and several grain/bean cold salads.

Ours had some quinoa and tabbouleh salads and cowboy caviar with the hummus and guac too.

12 pack of Hail Merry chocolate-coconut ganache tartlets. I think they were around $8.

I shiitake thee not: there is VEGAN GANACHE at Costco. They were in the refrigerated section near the salads.

I love those things. They are almost $5 each at Wegmans. PMS treat only.

They're pretty small, so they might be a downscaled version. I can't imagine anyone charging $5 each for them, but $8.99 for the pack (just looked it up) seems reasonable...ish. These ones are about mini muffin size. And yes, before someone jumps in and points it out, it would probably be easy to make my own for a fraction of that. But I am enjoying them ;)

Costco in VA had so many great things! Three packs of organic vanilla silk, coconut water, edamame, Kung Fu Girl wine, organic sugar. I even found vegan chocolate chips! My mom keeps buying the giant bags of tollhouse so i assumed that was the only kind they had. But nope, kirkland brand is milk-free! She also got me a bottle of saffron for when i go back to school. Now i can finally make that saffron-something rice from vcon.

I was informed that Bay Area Costcos (at least south bay) have giant tubs of unrefined coconut oil at a totally reasonable price. I witnessed said tub at a raw cheesecake-making party and it was glorious. Now I just have to find it in the store.

The Louisville location has the coconut oil too. I also found a box of the individual packets of shelf-stable Wild Garden hummus. I like these because I can use them to bulk up veggies at work or at a place with little options for me.

We saw (and purchased!) the Dave's Killer bread 2-pack today! Such a good deal. Also got the coconut oil, a 4-pack of tofu, and Hodo soy nuggets. Yum!

I also saw a gigantic bag of Bob's red Mill almond flour for $14 and Bob's Red Mill AP flour.

Found a wonderful salad mix at Costco in San Diego. "Sweet Kale/Chou Frise Doux". It's chopped broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale, chicory, roasted pumpkin seeds dried cranberries. It has a poppy seed dressing included but it has egg in it. The salad is crunchy, healthy and delicious. I never saw it there before so I think it's new. Look for it. It's also huge- a 28oz bag.

I'm guessing that's another thing that is not going to be at our Costco (but darn if I'm not going to look anyway!).

I would be so happy to have a giant box of PB cups.
This isn't a food thing, but my mom was kind enough to get me a Vitamix from costco. I called her really upset that my new (three months) blender broke, and she immediately said there were Vitamixs at Costco. WIN.

Alas, they did not have them. To cheer myself up, I bought two packages at Kroger. The cashier asked me what made them organic. Umm...the ingredients?

Ooh, I tried that killer bread when I was at Tahoe last week and it's so good!! I wonder if they would sell it all the way downstate - I'll have to look.

I was excited about the giant tub of beet salad, but don't love it. Sprinkling Soybleu over the top helped, somewhat. Edible, and I'm glad they have another vegan prepared salad now, but I don't think I'd buy it again.

I'm out of my two giant bags of mandarin chickenless and I really hope they stock it again soon!!
