I want to make these Pecan Pie Truffles, but we currently only have rum and not bourbon. I am not much of a drinker, so I don't really know what the difference would be taste-wise. Do you think substituting rum in this recipe will still work?

Yes. Very much so. Spiced or dark rum is probably better than white.

D'oh, we only have white (and until the other day, I was unaware that it came in clear and dark).
