I have myself a huge hankering for some greasy, spicy, saucy Chinese food. Tofu and broccoli in a sauce of some sort is delicious, but I'm craving something reminiscent of the Chinese takeout I used to get years ago. Fried, covered in sauce, with the white rice just begging me to cover it in the delicious, salty, spicy sauce.

Does anyone have a go-to recipe for the moments such cravings hit, or am I alone in this desperation?

I've never made this, but I keep meaning to try the Serious Eats Kung Pao Tofu. It looks seriously amazing.

I have no suggestions, but I want exactly what you just described. Like, now.

I have made this General Tso's tofu many, many times for many happy people: www.vegweb.com/recipes/general-taos-tofu

I often make this spicy broccoli with garlic sauce to go with it: http://www.vegweb.com/recipes/spicy-bro ... rlic-sauce

This broccoli is good, too: http://www.vegweb.com/recipes/julies-br ... rlic-sauce

Here's Kittee's lemon chicken: http://pakupaku.info/lemonchickin.shtml

And this is one of my all-time favorite recipes (you can sub tofu or tempeh or seitan or soy curls or or or...): http://www.vegetarianrecipesandcooking. ... recipe.php

fuschia dunlop's books are so not vegan, but really enjoyable reads and eats (and sauces) to explore and veganize as needed

I've been craving egg foo young lately, and want to try to make it with Follow Your Heart vegan eggs. If you don't have access to those, this recipe sounds good:
http://vegetarian.about.com/od/vegetarianchineserecipes/r/tofufooyoung.htm

I wasn't an omelette fan as an omni/ ovo-lacto vegetarian, but I liked foo young. I think it's because of the greasiness and the salty sauce.

I never actually had egg foo yung as an omnivore (I was never a big fan of eggs), but I took it in my head to try it out awhile back and the results turned out great!
