Has anyone ever seen these? I'm not having any luck with my online searches so far...

there was a thread about this on the old boards. sunspire used to make them, years ago, but i don't think anyone has seen any since. we were all pretty bummed about it, if i recall.

I know that Clif Bars contain vegan peanut butter chips, so they must exist in some obscure capacity, but at this point, no searches nor attempts at creation of pb chips have been fruitful.

Yeah the old thread actually came up in my Google search, but when I clicked on it, it just took me to Isa's message about the new boards being up. I've searched almost everywhere online (I think?) and I can't find anything. I figured that if there are vegan white chocolate chips available then there definitely has to be vegan peanut butter chips available somewhere, right? Guess not.

I'll bet that the companies who have vegan PB chips in their products probably make them themselves.

I know Sjaak's makes a small peanut butter cup that is to die for - not quite like the Reese's but still amazing. They're about the size of a loonie and made of great dark chocolate.

Psst....BunzOfCinnamon is looking for peanut butter chips, not cups.

Wasn't a PPKer trying to make their own PB chips a while ago? I was really hoping for a recipe.

I looked at the ingredients for Sunspire's non-vegan peanut butter chips: Evaporated cane juice, palm kernel oil, whey powder, partially defatted peanut flour, Maranatha® Peanut Butter (peanuts, salt), whole milk solids, soy lecithin (a non-GMO emulsifier) and salt.

To make your own chips, it seems like all you need is the sugar, the peanut flour (not defattened, since I'd just cut out the palm kernel oil - though that may have something to do with the chips remaining solid at room temp), the peanut butter, soy lecithin (to emulsify), and some salt.

If I super liked peanut butter, I'd try this... But I may try it with almonds or cashews in the next few weeks!

Look at me, coming late to the party. *grin* I found this thread while looking for vegan peanut butter chips to make the
vegan chocolate peanut butter dough balls found here - http://peasandthankyou.com/2010/11/09/having-a-ball/ . The author of the recipe admits that she used Sunspire peanut butter chips, which have some dairy in them. So far, the best thing I've found for the peanut butter chips would be this recipe - http://growingupveg.blogspot.com/2011/0 ... ecipe.html - though it requires finding vegan while chocolate chips (a slightly easier task).
