I need some kid pleasing appetizers for my daughters New Years eve party. It will be kids from 10-13....so what do you recommend? (All of the kids normally don't eat vegan)

pigs in a blanket (some refrigerated crescent roll dough is vegan and so is some puff pastry and veggie dogs or sausages)
pizza bagels on mini pizzas (with or without soy cheese)
tofutti sour cream with onion soup mix and potato chips and carrot/celery sticks
chips and salsa/bean dip
popcorn
and of course cookies and brownies and cupcakes

Have you guys always been vegan? If your daughter has some favorite apps from before she was vegan we could probably help you veganize them.

Idji's ideas are perfect. (I have a 13 year old)

Those pigs in a blankets with crescent rolls are a huge hit with his friends.

Two of my four kids are in that age range. Ijdi's ideas are great. Also homemade chex mix. There's one version that has melted chocolate chips and peanut butter coated with powdered sugar that my boys love. They also love anything made with puff pastry. I make a layered taco dip that's good (it's from American Vegan Kitchen). It's a bottom layer with Tofutti cream cheese and sour cream mixed with chipotle peppers and cumin (?) And then layers of black beans, lettuce, tomatoes, and olives.

I was totally going to suggest pigs in blankets, too! IJDI's list is fantastic. I also recently discovered the joys of Mac 'n Cheese Bites (I made them with Daiya, and did them in a mini muffin pan). They are really good, and both I and my 2 year old love them, so I'm guessing they would go over well with any age.

We actually aren't vegan. At 10 my daughter became allergic to milk, eggs, fish, and beef so vegan recipes and foods are safe for her so I am still learning all of this!

I like the chex mix and mac and cheese muffin idea. Thanks!! I haven't tried any substitute for meat that would work in pigs and blanket, does anyone have a specific brand they recommend??

You found a forum with lots of great resources for you and your daughter!

My brother's kids, between the three of them, are allergic to dairy, nuts, soy, and gluten (one has celiac disease). I know mealtime can be hard for my SIL, (who does all the cooking), to please everyone. I am certain you can find some recipes here that your whole family will enjoy. Happy New Year!
