My husband's friend just told us that he saw a commercial tonight advertising Tofurky at Subway. Did this really happen?!? I'm not finding anything online, except the billions of people begging them to carry it.
Please let this be true.

I think the sandwiches being tested in the DC area were with some sort of veggie patty, not Tofurky. I also never heard anything more about it after the initial test.

There is a non-vegan veggie patty at Subway locations nationwide now.

I think this dude was drunk. Or something. He texted after he saw the commercial that probably doesn't even exist?
You have no idea how many times I'm stuck eating subway during my kid's soccer stuff, this would be magical if it were a thing.

I heard they were test marketing three vegan options at a few stores. One was a rib-like something or other. They were all a lot more involved than just having Tofurky slices, which is what the COK campaign was calling for. When I heard about it I remember thinking that they were setting it up to be too expensive to be successful but I haven't heard anything since.

This will not be of help to most of you, but I think the veggie patty served in New Zealand Subway restaurants is vegan.

We tried it a couple times just to support the gesture but it was so weird and tasteless.

i wonder if it's being tested and if they will expand to other markets.
i thought Chipotle had tested some sort "meat alternative" in the DC area but then i never heard what happened. :-(
they need to carry tofu

I've also seen the turkey commercial. If I were drunk enough I might think it was a tofurky commercial.
They do need to get their shiitake together and offer something. Even just hummus.

I used to live in Alexandria. Arghhh. This would've been handy when I was a frazzled parent of a newborn! And my husband would probably have LOVED the ribletwich.
ETA it would be really great if they would make more vegetarian options because it's usually one of the only veg-friendly things on military bases, and it would save my husband eating the same thing day after day and me having to pack him a lunch to avoid that. Just a few different options besides veggie delite and veggie pattie (he's O-L veg) would probably make him a very happy camper, and they could please some vegans as well.

They had falafel at a Bay Area subway and I had to try it just to see. It was fine! If they carried it everywhere it would be great for road trip purposes or in a pinch. You have to get it without the normal sauce and if you add avocado it's still $1 extra. I put the sweet onion sauce on it.

I could eat 1 million veggie subs before getting full. I do like the "It's Vegan!" sign a lot.
