There is a recipe on the Bisquick website that is similar. Mr. Bran baked them for me when he did his Mofo project for my blog. The recipe I did isn't as fancy as the one you posted but it is close. I wrote it out here: http://pandawithcookie.blogspot.com/search?q=biscuits
They were pretty good.

Also, I'm 99% sure that's the exact recipe Red Lobster uses. My mom worked there when I was a kid and we used to rave over those biscuits and I remember her exclaiming once, "It's just bisquick and cheese!".

That is so funny! I know so many people who rave about those biscuits.

Mmmmmmm cheesy biscuits! I've done the PPK herbed dropped biscuits with Daiya, but I think I have to try the PandaCookie one now.

So, I made margarita cupcakes over the weekend for a friend's birthday party (they were a big hit, of course). Now I realize that I have 3 very partially used bags of powdered sugar in my baking cabinet. I have no idea how I'm going to use all that up anytime soon!

I made the bakery style berry muffins from VB tonight, using raspberry yogurt and a mix of frozen raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. So, so good. That recipe is my favorite muffin recipe ever.

The Vegan diner scallion double corn cornbread. It's still in the over but it looks wonderful.

Does granola count? It's in the oven right now and i'm SUPER excited about it because i'm using some super fragrant cocoa butter (for cooking) that my sister sent me for my birthday. I haven't been able to figure out what to make with it yet, so I figured I'd use it on some granola where I'd definitely be able to taste it. pre-oven the granola mixture tastes so incredible!

Baked a lemon layer cake with blueberry spread, homemade lemon curd, and vanilla frosting. Way too sweet, but was very adorable! It was about 5" across and 4" high, with four layers.

Contemplating starting a ciabatta loaf tonight so I can eat it with split pea soup tomorrow. I really should. But it's getting late, and everyone else went to bed already, and I want cuddles too!

Bodhi, what lemon curd recipe do you use? I've always wanted to try to make it myself!

Yesterday I was snowed in, so I made PB&J granola bars, banana scones, bread sticks and spelt sourdough.

I used this one:

I didn't have light brown sugar, so I used regular brown - in retrospect, I'd just use white so the curd turns out a pretty yellow. Otherwise, I followed as is, and it turned out quite well!

I made a good carrot cake but the best part was the frosting - I struggle with frosting because shortening grosses me out and I hate the taste of EB, but you definitely need one and maybe both of those to get the right consistency. I used something like one part shortening, one part EB, and two parts coconut oil, and it was SO GOOD. Also I put in a ton of vanilla, some lemon juice, and some salt. I brought the leftovers into work today and someone said it was the best frosting she'd ever had!

I've done a full EB one, a full shortening one and a EB/shortening one but I love the coconut oil added too! Good idea!

I used flax egg! I might even do two. They weren't easy to form into balls since they were dry so I squished them down. They were delicious, but I absolutely love oats and almost prefer fully oat based cookies over flour based ones.

Today I made a coconut cake, a chocolate caramel cake, fauxstess cupcakes, vanilla lavender cupcakes, chocolate kahlua petit fours, chocolate chip brownies, insanity bars, and chocolate chip cookie sandwiches... BORING.

BUT! Saturday I made a cake for my nephews! The two oldest (the twins) and their younger brother's birthdays are about a month apart, so they have their birthday parties together. They're really into skateboarding right now, so I did my best (knowing NOTHING about skating at all). Chocolate cake, airbrushing, blah blah.

The cake (they provided the skateboards for the top):

Happy Birthday 'graffiti':

Some might recognize the Sherlock reference on this side:

When I showed that bit to my sister she was like "I'm surprised you didn't write 'Bad Wolf' on there!" and I was SO MAD at myself for not thinking of that! Seriously, more upset than I should have been.

Anyway, all the kids (and adults) ate and enjoyed the cake, while I secretly smiled at the fact it was vegan and they didn't know.

the one from Vegan With a Vengeance? I've heard that people have some problems with the carrot cupcakes in the cupcake book, but the carrot cake recipe (not specifically for cupcakes) in vwav has never failed me. if you're using the one from the cupcake book, maybe check out the vwav one. I think people have had to add more flour to the one from the cupcake book.

Thanks, I'll try that. I tried the cupcake recipe from VCTOTW and added a but more flour and they turned out a better. I think they're just too moist.

Turtle shortbread! Chocolate shortbread with caramel and toasted pecans on top. The shortbread is a tiny bit underdone, so I didn't take this to my tattoo artist as planned (I'm too picky about my baked goods to share anything that's less than perfect!), but it tastes pretty good straight out of the fridge before the base has time to soften.

buckwheat bread - it turned out awesome - so light but with a nice buckwheat flavor! I halved the traditional whole wheat bread recipe in the healthy bread in 5 min a day book (using maple syrup in place of the honey), and for the 3 and 1/2 c flour it calls for, used 2 c white whole wheat, 1 c buckwheat and 1/2 c high gluten white.
