Does anyone have any suggestions for A vegan, low-to-no sugar cookbook with easy recipes? An omni friend of mine is looking for something to support his wife who is dealing with breast cancer.

What is Crazy, Sexy, etc. like? (I'll go check the cookbook thread, too.)

Reliable blog suggestions would be helpful, too.

Thanks, everyone!

I'd say Appetite for Reduction. It only really uses small amounts of agave and maple syrup as sweeteners, it has a very big emphasis on whole foods, and it's delicious and the recipes come together quickly.

Thanks! That is a really good suggestion AND I have the book already, so I can lend it to him.

Dreena's Burton's new book would probably be good too. I can't keep her titles straight, but I think it's Let Them Eat Vegan.

I second lavawitch's Dreena Burton suggestion. I like the looks of the recipes she posts online and she's also super accessible via Facebook and twitter.

Dreena's new book Let Them Eat Vegan would be perfect. No processed substitutes, she's awesome, and answers questions.

Don't forget to look online. I think the Engine 2 diet recipes are pretty simple, they have some of them online
http://engine2diet.com/recipes/favorites/

Also, you can point him to the PPK recipe collection as well.

Excellent suggestions! I get a little leery of E2 recipes; some of them are not too tasty. The Dreena Burton book sounds really good.
