what brand of chicken nuggets do people buy?
i miss the morningstar ones. seems like most brands that are actually vegan like the gardein ones you have to cook in the oven.

i was so excited when i found LightLife nuggets that appear to be vegan AND you can cook them in the microwave and i just ate some and they are gross.
they are so salty and i think they taste weird. me no likey.

BBQ sauce makes them better.

The Boca ones are good, if you can find them. I found them at WinCo and Walmart.

Someone was telling me that the reason that Trader Joe's and WF's processed vegan products are so salty is because they use the salt to replace the preservatives that people are trying to avoid (like Mark Bittman's edict of never eat anything you can't pronounce.)

We like the TJs ones, but balance the salt out with veg, fwiw.

I reallllllllllly like the boca chicken nuggets.

I took them on vacation with me, in a condo with a bunch of Omni's and they ate most of them. Thank god i had an extra bag!

They are best in the oven, but still good nuked.

Fortunately I'm a chemist so I can eat all those preservatives :)

I used to like the morning star buffalo wings made in the microwave.. too bad they use milk and eggs.

I tried the WF ones and thought they were OK, but came in a sad little bag with a snack size portion of them. I just always make the Gardein (or Kroger's similar half-priced version) in the toaster oven. I don't think I've ever seen the Boca ones.. but I think their chicken patties do OK in the microwave as long as you eat them with plenty of some sauce. I douse my nuggets in as much sauce will stay on them anyway.

The WF ones are okay but I really don't think the microwave does them any favors. Does Health is Wealth still make nuggets?

Those were my favorite, but 6.99 a box so I never bought them. So good though.

The health as wealth ones are my favorites but they are hard to find. I didn't know the Boca ones were vegan. I will have to try that.

Since I can never find the HAW ones I make a quadruple batch (I kid you not) of chickpea cutlets and make into nugget size and bake to keep in the freezer. Yum.

I microwave the Gardein ones and they're fine.

lol, when I first came here I just thought everyone was super polite because of the filter..

I bet the gardein ones would be mushy microwaved.. maybe somewhere on the internet there is a way to make your own crisper tray, like what bagel bites, hot pockets, etc come with?

Ok I am completely lost as to what this filter is that's so polite.

I use rebranded gardein chicken nugs, in my countertop convection oven, usually.

I think we've been buying the Boca ones and like them, but I always put them in the oven, so I'm not sure how they are in the microwave.

Have you had their chik'n patties? They're just like that, only. . . small. I don't like the burgers either but totally dig the chik'n.

I was about to point out that that was actually Michael Pollan rather than Mark Bittman, but then I realized they're pretty much the same person anyway so it doesn't matter.

I like the Boca, WF, and TJ's ones. We've done them all in the microwave before, they were fine enough. But really, the solution to all of your problems is to buy a large toaster oven. We do all of our nugget prep there (except when needing nuggets IMMEDIATELY in which case, microwave). The Boca chik'n stuff is completely different from the Boca veggie burgers, which I agree, are disgusting.
